Is Microsoft 365 experiencing an outage affecting sign-ins and SSO?

Are Microsoft 365 and Entra authentication having problems today? We're in the US East region and can't sign in to several commercial Microsoft services or other applications that rely on Microsoft SSO. Government services appear to be working, and some users are reporting 502 and 503 errors, slow email, Teams issues, and web apps failing to load. Is anyone else seeing this, and does anyone have an update on the scope or recovery?

Yes, this appears to be a Microsoft 365 service incident. Users in the United States, and possibly some other regions, are reporting 502 and 503 errors when accessing Microsoft 365, Entra authentication, Teams, SharePoint, email, and other connected applications. The reported incident began around 9:47 AM Eastern, with Microsoft investigating the service telemetry and gradually seeing fewer reports.

The most noticeable problem seems to be authentication and SSO. Anything using Microsoft sign-in or OIDC may fail even if the application itself is healthy. Several organizations are also seeing slow or unreliable email and web apps, so it may not be limited strictly to the login page.

That matches what we’re seeing. Some users can sign in from home networks but fail from the corporate network, while others are having trouble with Microsoft services even without SSO enabled.

It looks like service conditions are improving. Multiple organizations reported that SSO, admin portals, Teams, and connected applications started working again, though some users may continue seeing intermittent errors. It’s worth monitoring before assuming everything is fully stable and documenting any downtime if it affects service-level commitments.

The impact is inconsistent by region, tenant, and user. Some US East and Central environments are affected, while others are completely normal. There have also been reports from the UK and Western Europe, although the official scope initially focused on the United States. If your users are still affected, check your tenant’s service health page through another available admin account or network.
