My cursor sensitivity suddenly became much faster while I was using a worn-down Razer Viper Mini at 1600 DPI. That DPI setting used to feel comfortable, but now it is so fast that I can barely control the pointer or play games accurately. The problem occurs with every mouse I connect, so it does not seem to be caused by the mouse itself. I have already tried uninstalling Razer software, changing pointer settings, and updating or reinstalling drivers, but nothing has helped. What could cause a system-wide sensitivity change, and how can I restore my previous feel?

Since the same thing happens with multiple mice, the hardware probably is not responsible. Check Windows’ pointer settings under Mouse settings and open Additional mouse settings, then verify the pointer-speed slider and the Enhance pointer precision option. Also inspect any saved profiles or DPI stages in Razer Synapse, because a profile can apply settings when a game or application launches. If everything looks correct, create a temporary Windows user account and test the mouse there. If the sensitivity is normal in that account, the problem is probably limited to your original Windows profile.
I already checked the pointer options and Synapse without finding a fix, but I’ll test with another Windows account. When you say a corrupted user setting, do you mean a saved Windows value could have become damaged and started producing side effects like this?
