About 20 minutes ago, I received a text saying my phone had connected to a network in another country. I'm still sitting at home in my kitchen, but my phone now has no service. What could cause this, and how can I get my connection back?

Contact your mobile carrier and explain exactly what happened. They can check whether your account, SIM, or network registration has a problem. A SIM issue is possible, but it’s better to have the carrier verify it rather than assume the phone was cloned.

I’m trying to reach support, but their technical team won’t be available for another hour.

This may simply be a widespread carrier outage. Check the provider’s status page and an independent outage tracker to see whether other customers nearby are reporting the same loss of service. In this case, reports from thousands of people suggested it was a network outage rather than a problem with the phone’s location.
