My third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro recently stopped recognizing most of my chargers. Steam Deck USB-C chargers no longer show the charging symbol or provide power while the iPad is running, even though those chargers work normally with Steam Decks, laptops, and AirPods. If the iPad is powered off, connecting one of the chargers prompts it to turn on, but it still does not charge. A Mophie charger continues to work, so the issue seems selective rather than a completely dead charging port. Everything worked normally until about a week ago, making me wonder whether a software update caused the problem. I installed the latest minor update available to me, but that did not fix it. Is this a known issue, and are there any troubleshooting steps or a reliable fix?

A recent system update could be related, since some Apple devices have occasionally stopped recognizing particular chargers after updating. The fact that one charger still works makes a total hardware failure less certain, but it would also be worth checking the USB-C port for lint or debris, trying different USB-C cables and power adapters, and restarting the iPad. If the behavior continues across multiple known-good cables, the port or its power-negotiation hardware may be failing rather than the chargers themselves.
That was my suspicion too, although I cannot say exactly when the problem started. I installed the latest minor patch I had available, but the Steam Deck chargers are still not recognized.
