When I record game clips with Nvidia, my microphone ends up much quieter than the game audio. Other players in the recording sound clear and loud, but my own voice is barely audible. My microphone volume appears to be turned up in Nvidia and Windows, and I'll also recheck the SteelSeries settings. The microphone sounds normal when I stream and create clips from the stream, so the problem seems specific to Nvidia's recording settings, where I may not have the same separate audio controls.

In Nvidia’s recording settings, select the physical microphone directly instead of a virtual device. It’s also worth checking the Windows input level and any available microphone boost. Since the game audio is normal, the issue is probably just the mic input level or the wrong device being captured.
If you use SteelSeries GG/Sonar, it may have created several virtual microphone devices. Nvidia could be recording from a different input than your streaming software. Compare the microphone selected in Nvidia with the one used by your streaming program, and make sure both point to your actual mic.
I’ll check that. I previously disabled Sonar because it was causing other problems, but it could still be affecting the selected input.

That makes sense. I’ll verify the selected input and check the Windows volume and boost settings.
