I'm completely new to PC gaming and recently set up a system with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, ASUS B650-A motherboard, 32GB of Corsair DDR5-6000 memory, a 1TB TeamGroup SSD, and an 850W MSI power supply. When I launch games through Steam, they open briefly and then crash. Steam still shows them as running afterward, so I can't start them again unless I close the stuck process. Chrome or another browser also occasionally stops loading websites until I restart it. So far I've reinstalled Steam and the games and installed the graphics card drivers. What other drivers or troubleshooting steps should I try?

Start with Windows Update, then install the latest AMD chipset drivers for the B650 platform and the current Radeon driver directly from AMD. In the Radeon software, a normal default installation is fine; you don’t need to change advanced settings yet. After installing, reboot the computer. If a game remains listed as running, open Task Manager, find the game or its launcher process, and choose End task before trying again.
If current drivers don’t solve it, update the motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers using ASUS’s official support page. BIOS updates can improve memory compatibility on newer AM5 systems. Also test the RAM at its default speed temporarily: disable EXPO in the BIOS and see whether the crashes stop. DDR5-6000 is commonly supported, but an unstable memory profile can cause games and browsers to crash.
Don’t flash the BIOS randomly or interrupt the update. Confirm the exact motherboard model, follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and return the BIOS settings to a stable default before testing.
Since the browser is also acting up, I’d avoid assuming this is only a Steam problem. Check whether Windows itself is fully updated and look for crash details in Reliability Monitor after testing a game.
