I'm building a system with a B650I Nightdevil motherboard and have installed everything except the RAM. When I try to turn it on, nothing happens—not even the fans or motherboard LEDs. Could the missing memory prevent the board from powering on, or is there likely another issue? I'm also unsure how to connect the case's front-panel cables because the manual diagram is difficult to follow. What is the correct way to identify and connect the power-switch pins?

A system will usually power on without RAM and then stop with a DRAM or memory error during POST, so missing RAM probably isn’t the reason absolutely nothing happens. First check that the power supply is switched on, the AC cable is firmly connected, and the motherboard’s 24-pin and CPU power connectors are fully seated. You can also briefly touch the two power-switch pins with a screwdriver to start the board without using the case button. If it starts, the case’s power-button connector was on the wrong pins.
The front-panel pin labels are printed directly on the motherboard near the header, even though the downloadable documentation is hard to find. The only connection needed to test startup is the PWR SW pair; reset and LED connectors are optional. Use the printed labels to match the case connectors, or bridge the power pins with a screwdriver as a diagnostic test. You’ll still need to install RAM before the system can complete POST, but the fans and power should normally come on without it.
I checked the connections and tried bridging the power pins, but nothing happened. I’ll test it again after installing the RAM.
