My PC suddenly restarted twice during startup, right around the Windows login screen. There was no visible blue screen; it simply rebooted and then started normally. Event Viewer showed Kernel-Power event 41 and a bugcheck event 1001 with stop code 0x00000119. I understand this can point to a graphics-related crash, so I used DDU to remove the previous Nvidia driver and installed the latest version. Since then, I've restarted the computer several times without reproducing the problem. The GPU is an RTX 5080 PNY Edition purchased at the end of July. Could this be a failing graphics card, or is a driver, BIOS, or other compatibility issue more likely?

The stop code does involve the graphics subsystem, but it does not automatically mean the GPU hardware is failing. The minidump reportedly shows that the motherboard is running a BIOS version released before the RTX 5080, so updating the motherboard BIOS to the newest stable version would be a sensible first step. Older firmware can cause initialization or compatibility problems with newer graphics cards.
I uploaded the minidump for analysis. I’m not very familiar with crash dumps, but I’ll check the motherboard manufacturer’s site and update the BIOS if there’s a newer version.
