My Asus TUF A15 FA507NVR intermittently becomes darker while I'm using it, and the colors look slightly washed out or otherwise incorrect—not just lower in brightness. Moving the mouse over the taskbar immediately restores the display to normal. This started after the laptop returned from Asus service with a replacement motherboard and a fresh Windows 11 reset. It usually happens while browsing in Chrome or Edge. I've already reinstalled the graphics driver, but that hasn't fixed it. Could this be caused by HDR, an Asus display utility, or another software/driver issue rather than a hardware assembly problem?

A similar issue on Asus laptops has been linked to Asus display-control software, especially GameVisual. If GameVisual is installed, uninstall it and restart the laptop. Other Asus utilities, including Armoury Crate, can also affect display profiles, so temporarily removing or disabling them may help isolate the cause.
Check whether HDR is enabled. Press Windows key + Alt + B to toggle HDR, then see whether the brightness and colors remain stable. Windows’ HDR behavior can sometimes make the desktop look dim or change color unexpectedly.
GameVisual isn’t listed in my installed apps, and I had already uninstalled Armoury Crate before testing this. I’ll still check for any remaining Asus display or color-management components.
