LibreOffice Writer automatically changes a standalone lowercase "i" to uppercase. I'm writing in Swedish, where "i" means "in" and is correctly written as a lowercase word, so this automatic correction is inconvenient. Is there a setting that disables this capitalization while still allowing other autocorrections to work?

You can undo the automatic capitalization immediately after it happens. Type the lowercase “i” followed by a space, then press Ctrl+Z; this should reverse the capitalization without undoing the text you already entered.
Another workaround is to type an extra character after the lowercase “i” and then delete that character. It’s a bit awkward, though, and the Ctrl+Z method is generally quicker.
Check the document’s language settings first. Writer’s spelling and autocorrection behavior can depend on the language assigned to the text. You can usually change it from the language indicator in the status bar or through the language settings in the formatting menu.
