I bought an HP FD0xxx laptop yesterday, and the battery seems to be draining extremely quickly. I've already had to charge it four times today, and it drops from 100% to around 50% in about an hour while I'm only watching videos and browsing the web. Should I be concerned, or is there something I should check first?

Since the laptop is supposedly new and is losing 50% in roughly an hour, the battery itself may be defective or heavily worn, especially if it was sold as used or refurbished. If the report confirms poor capacity, request a replacement or have a technician install a genuine HP battery rather than a very cheap third-party one.
Generate a battery report to see whether the battery is actually worn out. Open Command Prompt or Terminal and run `powercfg /batteryreport`, then open the HTML file it creates. Compare the design capacity with the current full-charge capacity. If the full-charge capacity is much lower, the battery may already be degraded.
First check Task Manager for anything using a lot of CPU, and make sure the laptop is set to its most efficient battery mode. Background apps or a busy process can cause unusually high drain, although losing half the battery in an hour still sounds excessive for light use.
