My PC has been randomly crashing during games for about three years. The issue continued even with updated drivers, and briefly disappeared when I installed a Radeon 9070 XT in October 2025 before returning a few days later. I replaced the power supply because I suspected it was underpowered, but that did not solve the problem either. Now the symptoms vary: sometimes games run normally, sometimes the entire system becomes extremely slow, and other times the computer freezes completely with the image and sound stuck until I hold the power button. It can even lose performance after I quit a game. I have used DDU to reinstall the graphics drivers, reset the PC, performed a clean Windows installation, and tried various command-line repairs, but nothing has helped. What hardware or software should I investigate next?

Try testing the memory with a bootable tool such as MemTest86+. Faulty RAM can cause inconsistent crashes, severe slowdowns, and complete freezes that are difficult to diagnose.
Thanks for the suggestion. I ran a memory test and it reported no errors, so the RAM appears to be working normally.
