When I use Opera for sites and apps such as Discord, Disney+, or Crunchyroll, a casting notification appears in the lower-right corner of my computer saying that I'm casting to a TV in my house. I'm worried that someone might be watching my screen, and I want to stop this from happening completely. What is causing it, and how can I disable or disconnect it?

Another laptop experiencing the same behavior with Discord and Opera points more toward a browser or network discovery issue than surveillance. Look for an active cast session in the browser’s media controls and verify the TV’s on-screen input or cast status. If no active session is listed, the notification may only be advertising an available device.
This is probably a browser casting session or a website detecting a cast-enabled TV on the same Wi-Fi network. It doesn’t automatically mean someone is secretly viewing your computer. Open the cast control, select the connected TV, and choose “Stop casting” or “Disconnect.” Also check that the TV and computer are on the same network and that you didn’t accidentally start casting from another browser window.
Some browsers can expose nearby casting devices to websites, and having Opera and Chrome open at the same time may make the controls confusing. Turn off casting from both browsers, close any tabs that show a cast icon, and disable browser media or cast permissions if you never use the feature. You can also restart the TV or disconnect it from the network temporarily to confirm whether it’s just being detected rather than actively receiving your screen.

So simply being on the same Wi-Fi can make the TV appear as an option? Is there a way to prevent it from happening altogether?
