My RTX 2060 Super seems to be nearing the end of its life, so I'm looking at upgrade options. In my country, the RX 9060 XT 16GB costs around $495 USD, while a standard 8GB RTX 5060 costs about the same. I'm considering switching to AMD, but I'm unsure whether the 9060 XT offers good value at this price or if I should stretch my budget for a faster card.

The price only makes sense when compared with the cards actually available in your country. U.S. pricing doesn’t matter unless you can realistically import one. If the RTX 5060 8GB costs the same, the 16GB RX 9060 XT is the more attractive option, especially for newer games that are becoming demanding on VRAM.
If you can find an RX 9070 for only about $150–$200 more locally, that is likely the better long-term purchase. It offers roughly 40–50% more performance and avoids upgrading again as soon. However, recommendations for the 9070, 9070 GRE, or older high-end cards don’t help much if they cost substantially more or aren’t available in your country. At $495, the 9060 XT is reasonable mainly because the alternatives near that price are weaker 8GB cards.
In some regions the RX 9070 costs around $650–$700, while older cards may be unavailable or only sold used. In that situation, the 9060 XT can be a sensible local-market choice even if its value looks poor against U.S. prices.
Compared with the 2060 Super, the 9060 XT should provide a noticeable improvement in traditional rasterized performance, plus much more VRAM and newer features for upscaling, ray tracing, and frame generation. The extra memory may matter more over time, since some modern games already run poorly on older cards when they run out of VRAM. Just don’t expect a massive upgrade in every game; the exact gain depends on resolution and settings.
The performance increase is closer to a moderate step up in regular rendering than a guaranteed huge jump, so check benchmarks for the games you actually play. The 16GB capacity is still a strong advantage over an 8GB card.

Exactly. It’s a good deal compared with the 8GB 5060, but that doesn’t automatically make it good value compared with every other GPU on the market.
