I'm new to choosing graphics cards and I'm deciding between the entry-level XFX and MSI versions of the Radeon RX 5700 8GB. Since both use the same AMD GPU, is one brand generally better for build quality, cooling, noise, or reliability? Which card would you recommend if the prices are similar?

The specific model matters more than the brand name. Both XFX and MSI have made good and less impressive cards, so compare the cooler design, number of fans, temperatures, noise reviews, warranty, and price for the exact models you’re considering.

I’d lean slightly toward MSI for the basic versions because some cheaper XFX cards use more plastic and can have less effective cooling. That said, this isn’t a universal rule—higher-end XFX models can be built very well, while MSI’s budget models may not be anything special.

That can vary by model. The lower-cost cards usually cut back on materials and cooling, while premium versions from the same company can be much better.
