I'm planning to build a PC with a Ryzen 5 7600X and an RTX 5070, primarily for light work and some gaming. I'm wondering if a 650W power supply is enough for this setup, or if I should consider upgrading to a higher wattage PSU. Any insights would be appreciated!

You'll be totally fine with a 650W PSU for that setup. It should handle everything without any issues, especially if you're just doing light tasks and gaming.

I'd recommend considering a 700-750W PSU for that combination. The 50 series cards can be pretty demanding, and having some extra headroom is always a good idea!

I have an RTX 2080 Super, which is similar in power consumption to the RTX 5070, and my 650W gold PSU handles it like a champ. I even have some extra capacity since my CPU is an R5 3600X, so you should be fine with a good quality 650W PSU!

What's the specific model of your PSU? If it's a solid brand, then a 650W rating should be adequate.

It's a Thermalright 650W SFX 80+ Gold (Thermalright TGFX-650).
