Hey everyone! I'm about to upgrade my PC and could use some advice about my PSU. Here are my new parts: an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Nvidia 5070 Ti, Vengeance RGB 32GB DDR5 RAM (6000), and a B850 AORUS Elite WiFi 7 motherboard. I'm reusing some old components too: a 2TB 970 EVO PLUS M.2 SSD, an AIO Galahad 360 CPU cooler, and six Lian Li fans. My biggest concern is whether my current 750W power supply will suffice for this new setup. While I know 750W is the recommended wattage for the 5070 Ti, I've heard conflicting opinions. Some folks say I should get an 850W or even a 1000W PSU, which feels like overkill to me. So, what do you all think? Can I safely transfer my 750W PSU into this upgraded build? I'm looking for honest feedback. Thanks!

Absolutely! In fact, using a 750W is pretty standard for builds like yours. You'll be fine unless you're overclocking or adding crazy components later on. Just keep an eye on usage, and if it seems high, you can adjust settings to save power without needing a new PSU right away.
Your 750W should be just fine! Based on your components, you'll be running around 600W or so, which leaves a good buffer in your PSU. Just keep an eye on temps and usage, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. This PSU gets a B- rating, but it should handle your setup.
I heard I need 1.5 times the estimated wattage, which sounds wild. Is that true?
Yeah, you're totally good with a 750W PSU for your new system! Just make sure to monitor things a bit. If you're only pulling 618W max, you've got plenty of headroom. Don't stress too much about going bigger unless you start having stability issues.
Thanks, that makes me feel better!
Honestly, a 750W PSU is solid for your specs. My rig has a similar setup with a 7800X3D and a 5080, and I've had no issues drawing power. If it's all running smoothly with your current components, you should be in the clear!
That’s good to know! I’ll make sure to keep tabs on it.
