I'm considering upgrading my CPU for casual gaming and I've found a good deal on a Ryzen 5 5600X for $101, which comes with a Jonsbo CR1200 cooler. There's also a Ryzen 7 5700X available for $128, but it doesn't include a cooler. I plan to buy the Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler for an additional $19. Given these options, which CPU would be the better deal for my gaming needs?

I’d suggest going with the Ryzen 7 5700X, especially for only $27 more. Those extra two cores really help in poorly optimized games. However, if you're mainly playing less demanding titles or are okay with lower settings, the 5600X will still do a good job.
But does having those extra cores really make that much of a difference? I mean, it seems like a minor upgrade.
