I'm starting a new job where I need to improve my AWS skills. I've got memberships on Coursera and Udemy, so I'm on the lookout for some solid course recommendations from those platforms. If anyone can share a roadmap or their own experiences in learning AWS, that would be really helpful! I've heard that learning cloud technologies can be tricky, especially with costs related to AWS. I've come across some scary stories about unexpected bills due to mishandling resources, so I'm also curious about how to navigate that side of things. Any advice or resources would be appreciated!

If you're looking for something free to start, I recommend the AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials course. It's a great intro to AWS without diving too deep into the exam. But I suggest skipping the exam; it's more beneficial to get a feel for the basics and see what areas you want to explore further! Also, check out the AWS workshops for hands-on experience! If you want even more features, a SkillBuilder subscription will unlock paid labs as well.
Thanks for the tip! I’ve been looking for free resources.
Check out Udemy for courses by Stephane Maarek. He’s got a great teaching style and covers a lot!
I actually took his Kafka course—dude’s from France, right? Really enjoyed it!
From my experience, the best resources are definitely Adrian Cantrill’s courses. He teaches you the tech and AWS concepts rather than just exam techniques. Tutorials Dojo is also excellent for practice exams! I found both super beneficial when I took my AWS certs.
I passed the SA Pro and other exams with this method. Adrian covers important IT infrastructure and its integration with AWS, making it hands-on and practical. Highly recommend following his structured learning!
Why skip the exam though? Aren't certifications helpful?
