Hey everyone! I recently swapped out my Ryzen 5600X for a Ryzen 5700X3D. When I was putting it in, I realized I had almost no thermal paste left – the syringe barely budged, haha. I powered up my PC, and surprisingly, my temperatures are lower than before! I played a game that uses about 50% of the CPU, and it didn't go over 52 degrees Celsius. Since I used so little thermal paste, I'm wondering if I should just leave it as is or grab some more. By the way, I did clean off the leftover paste from my old CPU.

It sounds like you had just about the right amount if it was between a grain of rice and a pea. A lot of folks use more than they need, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if temps are low, you’re good!
If your temperatures are looking good, there's really no need to stress about it! As long as your CPU isn't overheating, you'll be fine. I've had similar experiences myself, and everything worked out great.
Thanks for the quick response! I just can't believe such a tiny amount worked, though. I figured it would heat up if it wasn't enough, right? Haha.
I would say it was more like a grain of rice, LOL! Guess it's working just fine.
