I'm a teacher who has taken on more than I can handle, especially after agreeing to manage a summer school program. During a sleepless night with my sick infant, I ended up using ChatGPT to help draft my email to back out of that commitment. However, I forgot to delete the standard text at the bottom that mentions tailoring the content. No one has replied yet, and I missed work today because of my child's illness. Tomorrow, I'll see my boss and I'm wondering if I should address it directly and joke about being so burnt out that I can't even write emails on my own, or should I just let it go?

In situations like this, using AI is just like using spellcheck. It's a common tool for communication nowadays, especially in a professional setting. So, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Haha, it's kind of your own fault for agreeing to something you weren't ready for! Maybe just see it as a learning experience.
If I were in your position, I'd probably choose to either let it be or just be honest with a lighthearted joke about it. Lots of people use AI for emails these days, so I doubt you're alone in that!
Exactly!
Indeed that was my first mistake.
