I'm currently using a 180Hz monitor and planning to switch to a Zowie 600Hz monitor. My system can handle over 600 FPS. I'm curious about how much difference in performance and experience I can expect between these two refresh rates. Any insights?

Yeah, the higher refresh rates are mostly a marketing thing these days. I mean, for competitive FPS games, like CS2 or PUBG, you might appreciate it more, but if you’re mostly using it for regular games or casual stuff, 144Hz is already smooth for a lot of people. Also, be prepared for the cost—$1000 for that monitor is pretty steep!
Upgrading from 180Hz to 600Hz will give you a higher refresh rate, but the real difference might not be as huge as you expect. While you’ll reduce frame time from about 5.5ms to around 1.67ms, many people say the noticeable effects mostly level off after 144Hz. So you might not feel a monumental change compared to going from 60Hz to 144Hz, for example.
I looked up that monitor, and it’s a 24-inch TN at 1080p. Just a heads up: you might sacrifice color quality and resolution. Personally, I'd prefer a 4K monitor at 120Hz or even an OLED if you can swing it. The visuals can really make a difference, especially for casual gaming.
Totally agree! If you're primarily gaming, maybe focus on a high-quality panel over just the refresh rate.
