Concerns About Privacy When Connecting to Campus WiFi

Hey everyone! I'm trying to understand more about the privacy implications of connecting to my campus WiFi. I found some instructions on their website that mention needing to accept or trust certain certificates after logging in. I'm really worried, though, because I've heard that certificates can potentially be used to decrypt HTTPS traffic. Can anyone clarify if these certificates are just for authenticating my connection, or could they also be used to inspect my HTTPS traffic? Here's a link to the instructions for reference: [https://imgur.com/a/fMuKcVj](https://imgur.com/a/fMuKcVj). Thanks!

The certificates are typically for authentication, but you should definitely be cautious. Even if the main purpose is to connect you securely, remember that it's not your WiFi, so your traffic could be monitored by the campus network. Just like you would with any public network, treat it with skepticism!

Thanks for your input! Just to clarify, are these certificates mainly for connecting to the network or could they potentially decrypt HTTPS traffic as well?
