Hey fellow admins, I'm curious if your organizations keep any 'pets' around, or if everything is set up dynamically. I'm delving into Terraform and looking to define and provision entire environments, but I'm thinking I might need some base infrastructure before diving in. Ideally, I'd like to start with a minimal setup. At the very least, there should be some storage system for persistent data. Also, I assume there needs to be a host for actually provisioning these ephemeral hosts, like a satellite or a Foreman server.
What are your thoughts on this? Are there specific services that you keep as pets? I'm contemplating whether monitoring and logging systems should be considered pets or if they can be provisioned dynamically within each environment. Any insights would be super helpful. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

Our boss occasionally brings his dog to the office, which is a nice little addition. We've also got some stray rabbits that seem to thrive in our backyard, plus the odd stray cat that likes to chase them around. Nothing too structured but it adds a bit of life to the place!
That's cool! Sounds like a fun environment. Is everything in your setup mostly cloud-based?
