What GHz is ideal for gaming on a budget?

Hey everyone, I'm diving into gaming and looking for advice on buying a computer that will not only handle games but also be good for writing books. I did some research and saw that 4.0 GHz seems to be the sweet spot, but I'm struggling to find something within my budget. I'm not a hardcore gamer, so I don't want to break the bank, but I'd love to enjoy games like "Infinity Nikki" or "Tiny Glades". I found a PC with 3.6 GHz that fits my budget—do you think that's enough? Any tips on what to look for when purchasing a computer would be super helpful as I'm pretty lost!

When it comes to GHz, it can be a bit misleading for assessing a gaming PC's performance. It’s really about the complete package: CPU, GPU, and other specs. Could you share the specs or at least your budget? That'll help us give better advice!

I don’t know all the specs yet, just really want something that runs smoothly and doesn’t crash during games. My budget is around $300.
