How Can I Regain My Coding Confidence and Return to Tech?

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind and could really use some advice. I graduated with a degree in IT and used to know my way around coding in languages like Java and C#. After college, I freelanced as a web developer and then worked as a Software Engineer, but my focus shifted to low-code development with PEGA.

Since then, I've taken a couple of years off from coding due to moving to Canada, studying, and job hunting—unfortunately, I haven't landed any tech jobs. This gap has really shaken my confidence, and I feel like I've lost my coding skills.

To add to the challenge, I'm not seeing many PEGA job opportunities around me right now, so I'm uncertain about the next steps. Here are a few questions I'd love some insights on:

1. How can I get back into tech despite this gap and my rusty skills?
2. What current in-demand skills or tech stacks should I consider refreshing or learning?
3. Is joining a coding bootcamp worth it, or can I succeed with self-study and building my portfolio?

I pick things up quickly when I get going—I just need help on where to kickstart my journey again. I'd appreciate any tips or direction. Thanks a bunch!

I think bootcamps might be a stretch in terms of cost, and honestly, Java and C# are still in demand. You could brush up on those and create projects using modern practices. Learning new tech stacks can also be beneficial. Personally, I love building projects just for fun! Technologies like TypeScript, Next.js, and React seem to be hot right now, but it's tough to guarantee they'll land you a job. Just focus on regaining your confidence and explore new things—you might find something you really enjoy!

Thanks! But I feel stuck because there's so many tech stacks, and every job wants something different. I'm kind of in analysis paralysis right now.
