I'm new to Arch Linux and I'm a bit scared to delve into the Arch Wiki. I feel lost with commands for the command prompt and I'm not sure how to install software or use any packages yet. Can someone guide me on how to effectively navigate and utilize the wiki?

You can start by checking out the Pacman article on the Arch Wiki. It lays out how to install packages using Pacman. Just remember, anytime you see something that looks like a command line tool, like `# pacman -S package_name1 package_name2 ...`, you can type those directly into your terminal. Don't worry, asking questions is part of the learning process!

Thank you! I appreciate you not making me feel dumb for asking. Coming from a Windows background, all this is a bit overwhelming.

I'd say start with Ubuntu for now. Arch isn’t very beginner-friendly, and don't let the hate against Ubuntu sway you—it’s a solid choice for newcomers!

Honestly, if this is your first experience with Linux, Arch might not be the best choice. You could try something more beginner-friendly like Mint or Fedora. I've been using Linux for decades, and while Arch is great, it can be quite challenging for newcomers.

I understand, but I'm on CachyOS now and it's working well for me so far!

It's great that you're exploring Linux! Just make sure to stick with safe practices, like only using root when absolutely necessary. And remember to verify checksums for your ISOs! Have fun!

The Arch Wiki is super helpful! Start by going to the homepage and using the search bar. If you look for "Install", you'll find lots of relevant articles. Just click on anything that looks interesting and try different search terms to see what you can find. It's all about exploring!
