Best Linux Distros for Dual Booting with Gaming and Video Editing

I'm planning to switch to Linux and will be dual booting from a second SSD. I really like the KDE Plasma environment and I'm looking for distros that would work well for gaming, video editing, browsing, and writing essays. I'm completely new to Linux but a fast learner. I have a terabyte of free space for it, so storage isn't an issue. Any recommendations?

You should definitely check out the distro selection page in the wiki; it’s super helpful! Just remember to back up regularly and maybe try things out in a virtual machine first to get comfortable.

You might want to explore options like Kubuntu, OpenSUSE, Manjaro, or EndeavorOS if you're up for learning more and trying out different environments.

EndeavorOS is indeed Arch-based, which is popular among gamers!

If you're using a laptop with an NVIDIA card, Kubuntu could be the way to go. It's user-friendly and works well with NVIDIA drivers.

If you're keen on gaming, you could try Nobara, which is based on Fedora and pretty cutting edge. For video editing, OpenShot is great for beginners, and if you need something more advanced, Kdenlive is worth considering. Browsing? Check out LibreWolf for a privacy-focused experience!

Fedora KDE Edition is a solid choice, especially if you have an NVIDIA GPU. It's pretty user-friendly and there’s a lot of support available in the Fedora community.

Yeah, I've tried Fedora with KDE, and it works perfectly!

I've heard great things about Pop!_OS and Linux Mint. They might suit your needs since they are both good for gaming and general use.

Pop!_OS is built on Ubuntu 22.04, so it's quite stable, just not the latest.

Mint’s pretty popular, but I've never really looked into Pop!_OS.
