I've been living in my new home for about a year now, and my internet connection is really slow—just around 8 Mbps. I opened up the telephone socket to check for issues and found that there are only two wires. I tried opening two more phone sockets with the same wiring, but the speed hasn't improved. I've already contacted my ISP, but it's been a month with no response. Is this situation normal?

It sounds like your speed is significantly lower than what you should be getting. What speed does your ISP claim to provide? Also, is your modem plugged into the phone outlet? Typically, the modem can use two wires (one pair) to work. Try checking if the internet is slow over Wi-Fi or if it’s any better when you connect via an Ethernet cable.
From that picture, it doesn’t look like a proper phone line setup. If you can, consider switching your ISP, but if that’s not an option, keep pressing them for answers or compensation for the bad service. It seems tough in Greece, especially if you’re not in a bigger city where services are better.
This really depends on where you live. What country are you in? If you're in Greece, there are definitely areas where internet service can be really poor. It's frustrating, especially when you're near better options but can't access them.
