I'm curious about what a WiFi owner can access regarding app usage and activities within those apps. From what I've gathered, they can see which apps are being used and how much time is spent on them, but I'm unsure if they can view the actual content, like searches or posts within those apps—specifically on Reddit. Also, would using anonymous browsing have any impact on this? Apologies if this has been asked before—I'm still figuring out this whole Reddit thing.

In theory, a WiFi owner can see almost everything happening on their network if they’re tracking it. If you're using a VPN and an external DNS server, they won’t see much about your activity. Without a VPN, they could see the time spent on Reddit or other sites.
It really depends on how your device is set up. If you're using a VPN, the WiFi owner won’t see any details except for the connection itself and the amount of data used. Without a VPN, they’d at least see what sites you're visiting and maybe guess at what apps you're using, but with proper encryption, they can't see much beyond that. Is there something specific making you worry about your privacy?
To put it simply, the WiFi owner can see if you're visiting Reddit or YouTube along with how long you're on those sites, but they can't see the specific articles or videos you view. Just make sure you're on HTTPS or that the app has good encryption.
