I'm currently a computer science major at ASU, but I'm considering transferring back to National University because I'd be able to finish faster—about 18 classes left and 1 class per month. At ASU, I'd need around 14 to 16 more classes, which would take me about 2.5 to 3 years if I go part-time. Since I'm active duty military and not working in tech right now, I'm wondering: does it really matter where my CS degree is from? Will employers in the tech industry view an ASU degree as better than one from National University, or is it all about just having the degree? I know certifications are often more valued, but I'm specifically asking about the degree itself.

Honestly, I wouldn't think a huge difference exists between the two. National University might not have as much recognition, but if you're comparing it to schools like Stanford, then yeah, prestige matters. ASU is well-known and respected, so having a degree from there might give you a better edge in job applications. But in tech, the fact that you hold a CS degree will generally matter more than the specific institution, especially if you're not going for the big name schools.
Gotcha, that makes sense — appreciate the honest take!
