Why is my internet speed so slow even though I have a gigabit plan?

I recently upgraded to a new internet plan that promises speeds up to 500 mbps, but ever since about a month after getting it, my download speeds have dropped significantly to around 100 mbps. My consoles seem to get around 300 mbps, but my PC is lagging behind. I've tried various solutions to improve the speed, so I'm looking for some advice. Also, I'm paying for gigabit speed, so I'd love to know if there's anything I can do to get closer to that.

Just a heads up, the speeds providers advertise are usually the maximum you'll get on their equipment. The actual speed on your devices can be affected by your home WiFi network. If you have a weak signal or poor coverage, that could be why you're seeing lower speeds. Whenever possible, connecting your devices directly to the router with a cable is the best way to ensure faster speeds, and for mobile devices, a good WiFi access point can help.

Are you using an Ethernet connection? Sometimes, the wireless signal can be weaker in certain areas of your home. If you can't connect via Ethernet, try checking if your WiFi channels are overlapping with other networks and switch to a less crowded channel if necessary.

I'm not on Ethernet and unfortunately can't use it, but I will check the channels!
