Can I Reduce My Lightsail Costs While Setting Up WordPress?

I've spun up 9 instances on Lightsail, but I haven't built any websites yet. Is there a way to lower, pause, or change my plan until I'm ready to launch my WordPress sites? Would it be better to delete these instances and only add them back when needed to cut costs? I'm really surprised by how high my expenses are right now.

You might want to consider stopping or even deleting those instances while you figure things out. Take your time getting the hang of things first, then you can scale up when you're ready to deploy your sites!

Yeah, just delete those instances until you're ready to use them. No need to keep them running in advance!

Unfortunately, once you've set up those resources, you're on the hook for the costs. There's not much built-in to limit your expenses; it's up to you to manage how much you spend. Just keep it simple—don't deploy more resources than you really need.

Honestly, I've always found that solutions like WP Engine work better for WordPress sites and might save you money. Even regular cPanel hosting could do the job just fine without the complexity of AWS.
