I built my PC about two years ago and have been spending a lot on canned air because it sits in a finished basement with pets and limited airflow. I'm using a negative-pressure fan setup, and the radiator has to be mounted as a front intake because the VRM heatsinks on my ASUS Z790E motherboard are too tall for a top-mounted radiator.
I'm considering an electric air duster and would like to know whether it produces as much air pressure as a standard 12-ounce can of compressed air. Are there advantages besides saving money, and are there any particularly good brands or models to consider? Price isn't a major concern, and the duster would mainly be used for cleaning a mid-size gaming PC.

An electric duster will save money over time, but reducing the amount of dust entering the room will help even more. A properly sized air purifier near the gaming area can reduce airborne dust and pet hair, although it won’t remove dust that’s already inside the computer. Cleaning or improving the basement’s airflow and keeping the case filters maintained should also help.
An electric duster is generally more practical for regular PC cleaning. The narrowest nozzle may not produce quite as concentrated a stream as a can, but it’s usually powerful enough for fans, heatsinks, filters, and radiators. The biggest advantage is that you don’t have to worry about tilting the can and spraying liquid propellant onto your components. They can be extremely loud, though, so hearing protection is worth considering.
I’d go with a corded model if portability isn’t important. They usually have more consistent power than battery units, and you don’t have to worry about battery life or gradual performance loss. These things are mechanically simple and can last for years. A good rechargeable unit is still convenient if you also want to use it around the house or on a car.
There are plenty of capable models, but the branding is inconsistent, so I’d focus on airflow, speed control, nozzle options, and whether it’s corded or rechargeable rather than chasing a particular name. When cleaning the PC, shut it down, unplug it, and hold the fans still while blowing them out so they don’t spin excessively. A corded unit is probably the best choice for a stationary desktop.
I bought a reasonably priced three-speed electric duster and use it for PCs, laptops, cars, and general cleaning. Even a midrange model can ramp up to a much higher output than you need for delicate areas, so having multiple speed settings is useful. The main downsides are the noise and the wider airflow compared with a can’s pinpoint nozzle.
