I'm planning a major upgrade from an old basic prebuilt-style computer and would appreciate a sanity check on this high-end build. The parts I'm considering are:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 8-core
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT PULSE 16GB
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7, AM5 ATX
- Storage: Samsung 9100 PRO 2TB
- Power supply: MSI MAG A850GL PCIe 5, 850W, 80+ Gold
- CPU cooler: MSI MAG CORELIQUID A13 RGB 360mm
I know the overall system is excessive compared with what I'm currently using, but are any individual parts especially overkill or poor value? More importantly, should everything work together without compatibility problems? I'm in the United States, and the SSD is still somewhat of a placeholder, so recommendations for a better-value drive or motherboard are welcome.

The core parts look compatible, but the motherboard and SSD are the easiest places to save money. Unless you specifically need features unique to the X870 platform, a good B850 board should provide everything most gaming builds need. A PCIe 5.0 SSD is also unlikely to make a noticeable difference in gaming compared with a quality PCIe 4.0 model. I'd also compare DDR5-6000 CL30 kits, since they may offer better memory timings than CL36 for a similar price.
The build itself is solid, and an 850W supply should be enough for this CPU and graphics card if the unit is suitable. Still, the power supply seems like the least impressive part of the list. If the price is close, a higher-quality 1000W or 1050W model such as the Montech Century II would give you more headroom and may be a better match for the rest of the system. Just make sure the case supports a 360mm radiator and that the motherboard and cooler include the necessary AM5 mounting hardware.

That makes sense. Do you have any particular B850 boards or SSDs you'd recommend? The Samsung drive was mainly a placeholder, and I'm buying in the US.
