My 13-inch MacBook Pro is more than ten years old and has completely stopped powering on. Is the Apple Store or a certified repair shop likely to be able to bring it back to life? I'm also hoping to recover some projects and a collection of MP3s from the computer if a repair isn't practical.

Apple probably won’t provide hardware service for a Mac this old. Once a model is considered obsolete, official parts and repairs generally aren’t available. An independent Mac repair shop may still be able to diagnose the power problem, though the cost could exceed the computer’s value. If the files matter most, tell the shop that data recovery is the priority before authorizing any repair.
The projects and MP3s are what I’m most concerned about, so I’ll ask about recovering the data before deciding whether a full repair is worth it.
