I haven't owned a PC in around five years, and this would also be my first ultrawide monitor. I'm considering the build in the parts list linked above, paired with a 5K2K ultrawide display. I've heard ultrawide resolutions can be significantly more demanding, so I'd like to know whether this system will handle gaming well.
I normally use High settings rather than Ultra. How practical would this build be at 5K2K, and how much longevity should I expect from it? Is there anything else I should change or consider before buying the parts and monitor?

The 9070 XT can make 5K2K gaming workable, but you’ll probably want to use an upscaler in newer or more demanding games. I wouldn’t call the setup especially future-proof at that resolution: current GPUs already have to work hard at 5K2K, so you may be looking at a graphics card upgrade in a few years.
Ultrawide gaming is more demanding than standard 1440p, but it isn’t automatically a problem. A 9070 XT should be capable of running the display, especially if you’re comfortable using High settings and adjusting a few demanding options. Just keep in mind that this is a 5K2K panel, not a typical 3440×1440 ultrawide, so the performance difference is substantial.
The main factor is the resolution, not just the ultrawide aspect ratio. A 3440×1440 display would be considerably easier to drive, and a 9070 XT handles that resolution comfortably. The 5K2K monitor in your list will put noticeably more demand on the GPU.
