Can a KeePass database be opened by multiple Windows user accounts?

Is there a way to configure a KeePass database so that more than one Windows user account can authenticate and unlock it? I mainly use the database on my home PC, but I occasionally copy it to a USB drive so I can use it on a laptop while traveling. At the moment I use a master password together with a key file. I understand that KeePass can include a Windows user account as an additional key component, but tying the database to only one account would be inconvenient when switching computers and could create a single point of failure if that Windows profile became unavailable. Could multiple Windows accounts be authorized, including domain accounts on a shared system?

The Windows user-account option is tied to a specific Windows profile and generally isn't a way to authorize several independent accounts. It also won't travel well to another computer. For your situation, keeping the master password and key file is the more practical setup, as long as you protect the key file and keep a secure backup.

For shared or domain-based access, a Windows account-based key would still need to be configured for each account, and recovery could become complicated if one profile or account is lost. A portable combination such as a strong master password plus a key file avoids locking the database to one machine or login, though it means everyone who needs access must securely have both pieces.
