Can I Build HDMI Input Directly Into a PC?

That answers what I was trying to ask—my wording was a little unclear. I was specifically wondering whether motherboards or GPUs came with an HDMI input, so I’ll look at dedicated capture cards instead.

There generally isn’t an HDMI input built into standard motherboards or graphics cards. The usual options are an internal PCIe capture card or an external USB capture device.

Capture cards already include the HDMI input port, so you don’t need to design or add a connector to the PC yourself. Just make sure the card is compatible with your available PCIe slot, or use a USB model.
