I've been using a DLSS Multi-Frame Generation enabler with my RTX 3070 for single-player games over the past few months. Now I'm wondering whether I could use the same features in online games. Since the GPU seems capable of running the necessary software, is there any way to make Windows or the drivers identify my RTX 3070 as a 5000-series card?

Be especially careful with online games. DLL injectors and modified game files can look like cheating software to anti-cheat systems, regardless of your intentions. A tweak that works in a single-player game could result in a suspension or ban online.
Technically, there may be ways to alter drivers or use custom DLLs, but pretending that a GPU is a different model is not a practical or safe solution. Firmware or driver modifications could leave the card unusable, and custom files may also trigger anti-cheat systems in online games. I wouldn’t risk the GPU or an account for frame generation.
Even if a community mod works, performance on older cards can be very poor. Multi-frame generation works best when the regular rendered frame rate is already high; otherwise the added latency and visual artifacts can make the game feel worse. On a 3070, it could easily turn into a stuttery slideshow.
You can’t add hardware-supported features simply by changing the name Windows reports. The 3070 lacks the specific hardware and driver support intended for newer multi-frame generation features, so the reliable solution is upgrading to a supported GPU.
