I'm building a new PC and want to reuse my current storage: one SATA SSD and two M.2 drives. One of the M.2 drives contains my operating system. Can I move all three drives into the new build without trouble, or should I take specific steps to avoid driver, boot, or activation issues?

The drives themselves can be moved over and plugged in normally. For the M.2 boot drive, though, a clean operating system install is usually the safest option after changing the motherboard. Reusing the existing installation may work, but old drivers can cause instability or other strange problems. Also check your activation status, since a license tied to the previous motherboard may need to be reactivated.
A hardware swap can work without reinstalling, especially with newer versions of Windows, but some features may need attention after changing the motherboard. In particular, systems that use Secure Boot or hardware security checks may require the new motherboard’s keys or settings to be configured. A clean install is still the most reliable approach if you want to avoid lingering driver issues.
