I bought a replacement left AirPod 4 for $69 about a week ago, and the original partially broken earbud was taken in as part of the process. Now that the newer AirPods 5 are available, I ordered a set and would rather return the replacement so I can put that $69 toward them. Since the replacement was handled as a repair rather than a regular retail purchase, is a refund or return likely to be possible?

The official policy may treat this as a repair, so a normal return window probably does not apply. You can still ask customer service or the store, but they may only be able to offer help for a defect rather than refund it because a newer model came out.
Probably not. The $69 transaction was processed as a replacement or repair service, not as the purchase of a standalone product that can simply be returned. Since you received the replacement AirPod, the store will likely consider the service completed.

Could I return the replacement anyway and have the charge reversed, even if I no longer have the original earbud?
