I started assembling my first PC late at night and am getting tired. I've installed the CPU, RAM, and SSD, but still need to install the cooler and finish the build. My screwdriver slipped and lightly touched the motherboard, though I can't see any scratches or damage. Is it safe to stop for a few hours and continue tomorrow, or could dust or leaving the partially assembled system unattended cause problems?

Put the motherboard and loose parts somewhere clean and stable, away from pets, spills, and carpet if possible. A little dust over a few hours is irrelevant; just avoid leaving anything where it can be knocked over or exposed to static. You can inspect the board again tomorrow before continuing.
There’s no timing requirement once the parts are installed. Just don’t power on the computer until the CPU cooler is properly mounted, and make sure the cooler, its fan cable, and the other connections are secure before testing. The screwdriver touching the board is only a concern if it left visible damage or hit a component hard.
