The power adapter for my ASUS monitor stopped working. The original adapter is an ADP-40KD rated for 100–240V input and 19V DC at 2.1A output. The only spare adapter I have is from a guitar amp, rated for 100–240V input and 10V DC at 3.0A output. Both are AC/DC adapters, but can the 10V adapter safely power the monitor?

No. The monitor requires 19V DC, while the guitar amp adapter only provides 10V. The lower voltage is not sufficient and could prevent the monitor from starting or cause unstable operation. You need a replacement adapter that outputs 19V.
Find an adapter with 19V output and at least 2.1A. A higher current rating, such as 3A, is generally fine because the monitor only draws what it needs. The plug size and polarity must also match exactly—usually center-positive, but verify the symbol on the original adapter or monitor.
For an ASUS TUF gaming monitor, I wouldn’t experiment with an incompatible adapter. Use the correct replacement or a reputable universal adapter configured for 19V with the matching connector and polarity. The 10V adapter is definitely not suitable.
