My computer has recently started shutting down about a minute after I launch a game. The lights sometimes remain on, and once the game audio continued in a repeating loop even though the system was no longer responding. This has happened a few times since I replaced my old power supply. The PC handled heavily modded Minecraft before, so I'm not sure what changed. I've already updated the GPU and other drivers, but the problem continues. Could this be overheating, a failing power supply, the graphics card, or something else?

Driver updates can fix crashes like this, so it was worth trying, but since the shutdown still happens, I’d test the hardware rather than immediately buying a new GPU. Check the Windows event logs for critical power errors, run a memory test, and try a controlled CPU or GPU stress test while watching temperatures. If only games trigger the shutdown and the temperatures are safe, testing with another known-good PSU would be more useful than replacing the graphics card right away.
The two most likely causes are overheating or a power delivery problem. Monitor CPU and GPU temperatures while starting the game, and check whether either one spikes before the shutdown. Also make sure the GPU and CPU power cables are firmly connected, the fans are spinning, and the case isn’t clogged with dust. If temperatures look normal, the replacement PSU could still be defective or insufficient for the system.
I updated the drivers but it still shuts down. I’m going to monitor the temperatures and check the power connections before replacing any parts.
