I recently switched from Windows to Linux Mint, and Discord freezes every time I start streaming, regardless of which game or settings I use. I have to force-close and restart Discord afterward. Is this a Linux Mint-specific issue, or could the Discord package I installed be causing permission or hardware-access problems?

How you installed Discord may make a difference. The Snap, Flatpak, and APT versions can have different permissions and hardware access, especially for audio, video, and screen capture. Check which package you’re using and try another installation method. It would also help to include your system hardware, graphics driver, Discord version, and any error messages from the terminal.
I hadn’t considered that the package type could affect streaming. I’ll check whether I’m using the Snap, Flatpak, or APT version and compare them.
