My Bazzite system intermittently loses internet access while connected through Ethernet. Network configuration reports "IP configuration was not available." Restarting the system and changing the iwd setting did not help. The cable is connected to one of the home mesh network units, and the connection is configured to obtain an address automatically through DHCP rather than using a static IP. What should I check or try next?

Since the Ethernet connection is using DHCP through a mesh unit, first check whether the mesh node is actually providing a network connection. Try another Ethernet port or cable, and see whether another device can connect through that same node. In Bazzite, confirm the wired profile is set to automatic IPv4 addressing rather than a manual address. You can also disconnect and reconnect the profile, then renew the DHCP lease with NetworkManager. If Wi-Fi works but Ethernet through the mesh does not, the problem is more likely the mesh node, its backhaul connection, or DHCP handling than iwd.

The Ethernet connection is currently set to DHCP by the mesh network, so it should normally receive an address automatically. If it still fails, checking the mesh unit and trying a different cable or port would help narrow down whether Bazzite or the network hardware is responsible.
