I'm putting together my first PC and would appreciate feedback before ordering. I'm a casual to intermediate gamer who also does some programming, and my priorities are strong value, dependable parts, and good 1440p gaming performance. Every component needs to be available through Amazon.com from a reputable seller. Are there any parts you would replace for better value, balance, reliability, or compatibility? I'm especially unsure about the case, power supply, motherboard, and memory choice.

I’d be cautious about using an ASRock motherboard with a Ryzen 9000-series processor because there have been reports of some boards damaging or killing Ryzen 9000 chips. For a reliability-focused first build, I’d lean toward a comparable MSI or Gigabyte B850 board instead, assuming the replacement has the features you need and is sold directly by a reputable source. Before ordering, check the exact BIOS support, memory compatibility, Wi-Fi features, and return policy.
The overall build looks reasonably balanced, and I wouldn’t change much purely for compatibility. The case and power supply are the areas I’d compare most carefully against alternatives, mainly for airflow, acoustics, warranty, and price rather than because they appear fundamentally incompatible. For memory, DDR5-6000 with CL30 or CL32 timings is a good target for this platform, so a less expensive kit with those specifications would be perfectly sensible if it comes from a reliable brand and has the correct capacity.

That’s helpful—I hadn’t seen those reports. Between an MSI B850M Gaming Plus WiFi and a Gigabyte B850M Aorus Elite AX, would either be a safer replacement for this build?
