I'm putting together my first custom gaming PC and would appreciate advice before buying anything. I'm in the United States and live near the Cambridge, Massachusetts Micro Center, so I may be able to use bundle deals and wait for sales. My goal is to keep the total cost under about $2,000. I'm not very familiar with the differences between CPU, GPU, and SSD options, so I'd especially like help deciding between Nvidia and Radeon graphics cards, choosing appropriate storage, and checking whether the parts in my planned build are well balanced. I also like a woodsy aesthetic with brown, dark green, and other natural colors.

Unless you specifically need Nvidia features, it’s worth comparing the Radeon RX 9070 XT. It generally offers stronger raw gaming performance and 16GB of VRAM for only around $100 more than some Nvidia alternatives. Nvidia can still be preferable for ray tracing, CUDA-related workloads, and features such as DLSS, but Radeon often gives you more traditional rasterized performance for the money.
Check the Cambridge Micro Center’s current CPU, motherboard, and memory bundles before buying those parts separately. A bundle could leave more room in the budget for a faster graphics card. For storage, a good-value 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSD is usually enough; expensive premium models such as high-end Samsung drives rarely make a noticeable difference in gaming. You can always add another drive later if you run out of space.
I’d like the build to have a natural brown-and-green look, but I’m not sure whether 1TB or 2TB makes more sense or which SSD models are good choices.
