GTX 1650 Laptop Freezes in Games While Windows Keeps Running

I have an ASUS TUF FX505GT laptop with a GTX 1650, and games—especially Genshin Impact—frequently freeze visually. The display stops updating, but the audio continues and I can still control the character. Alt+Tab works normally, and the Windows desktop remains responsive. During the freeze, the GPU appears to stop being used in the Taskbar.

I have already tried using DDU, changing power management to Prefer Maximum Performance, repairing and replacing nvlddmkm.sys, repasting the laptop, running Memtest86, checking SFC and DISM, installing both newer and older graphics drivers, and performing a clean Windows installation from a bootable USB. The issue remains.

What component or software problem could be causing this?

Since Windows itself stays responsive while the game loses rendering, this points more toward a graphics driver timeout or a GPU-related hardware or power problem than general system memory or Windows corruption. It may be worth testing graphics drivers from different release periods, because some versions can introduce game-rendering bugs. Also make sure the chipset, BIOS, integrated graphics driver, and other laptop-specific drivers are current from the manufacturer’s support page. If the issue happens across several driver versions and after a clean Windows install, the GTX 1650, its power delivery, or the laptop’s motherboard becomes increasingly suspicious.

I tested several drivers, including versions 596.36, 596.49, 610.88, and 616.56, without any improvement. The chipset and BIOS are also updated to the latest versions provided for this laptop.
